Holt Mclean:

A talent for bringing lifelike light and color to traditional landscapes and still lifes gives the work of Holt McLean its own unique perspective. A love for traditional arts and working in oils plays a large role in McLean's art. Influenced by the great artists of the Renaissance and Impressionist periods, her work takes on a classic feel with a modern twist. "I take a realistic approach in trying to capture the look and feel of the past," McLean said.

As a child McLean's parents fostered her love of art by enrolling her in plenty of classes, and she built on that by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from Appalachain State University. McLean's career took her first to Los Angeles, Ca., where she taught classes in painting and drawing, but then she moved back home to Charlotte to work in her own studio and study with Charlotte artist Andrew Braitman.
