Carla Garrison

Carla studied art at Winthrop University, and took over ownership of Green Rice Gallery in October of 2008, living her lifelong dream of filling her days with different aspects of the art world. 

An artist herself, Carla begins her pieces by building a wood panel on which to paint, then her imagination becomes reality using a brush and acrylics. Her subject matter varies from surreal visions of dreamlike worlds to commissioned portraits of puppies. 

A common thread runs through most of her creations; the doorway.  Carla lives life with the belief that every door she encounters holds a certain magic behind it, every one opening to a new and exciting opportunity.  She shares this excitement with all who view her work, allowing them to wonder as to what might lie behind each door.
